A chunk of amethyst. This sucker was so hard to focus on, I guess because it's reflective. It's not as sharp as I wanted, but this was the best of the lot. I love the deep purple color.

Love it! I work for a school called Amethyst and that is our school sysmbol. I may have to steal your idea and shoot mine too! LOL
Wonderful! I went to an amethyst mine when I was a kid and have loved it ever since.
I love Amethyst! It's my birthstone! :)
This looks like it should be in a science magazine.
